Registration

Registration will be open to players interested in joining the Monarchs Women’s Baseball League for the 2026 season. Whether you’re new to women’s baseball, returning after time away, or a familiar face from past seasons, this page walks you through how it all works.

Check out the Schedule & Events page for opportunities to get involved with off season training before registration opens. This is a great opportunity to get a feel for the game and the league prior to signing up.

The Draft

When registration opens and if you want to enter the draft to be on a team for the 2026 Season, you must fill out a draft card and pay the $20 fee. This fee will be refunded if you are not drafted to a team or put towards your registration fee of $150. Your registration fee includes a jersey, hat and all costs associated with our 10-game season, plus playoffs (fields, umpires, balls, etc).

Payments can be made via e-transfer to Jen Donaldson (nsmonarchs.women@gmail.com).

If you don’t get drafted right away, you will be added to the spare list and may be drafted later on if a player is injured or leaves for other reasons. Spares pay $10/game to play, and are given a jersey to wear for games (returned after the game).

Evaluations

Informal evaluations will be held every Sunday in April at BMO Soccer Centre in Clayton Park (keep an eye on the events page). This is an opportunity for the Coaches to meet you, see your skill level and get a glimpse of your personality. Coaches are looking for more than just ‘the best’ players, so don’t be worried if you don’t have a lot of experience. Bring a good attitude and give a great effort. Bonus points are given for those who love to dance, bring gameday snacks, keep a scorebook, and love to hug!

Each session at BMO is a $10 facility fee on top of your $20 draft fee. So if you plan to attend all 4 sessions, please e-transfer $60 to nsmonarchs.women@gmail.com.

*You must attend at least 2 of these sessions to be considered. This includes returning players. If you have an issue attending, please reach out to Jen Donaldson (nsmonarchs.women@gmail.com).

What to bring to evaluations

  • Glove (and any other gear you normally play with)
  • Athletic clothing and indoor footwear
  • Water
  • A positive attitude

The Spare List

Players not drafted immediately will be placed on the spare list. Spares are often called up throughout the season due to injuries, scheduling conflicts, or roster changes. Many players have joined teams this way in past seasons.

The Game Schedule

We will be waiting for the approval from HRM, but the proposed schedule is intended to be 1 game every weekend, alternating Saturdays and Sundays, with no games on long weekends.
